Truth behind Thane Train accident: Motorman Anil Chinchkar Dismissed from Service By Sr. D.E.E.(O)Mr. Sandeep Fuller

Mumbai, December 14: The motorman of the Titwala-bound train, which collided with a stationary Thane local at Thane station on Wednesday night, has been suspended by Central Railway.

At approximately 11.53 pm on Wednesday, the Titwala-bound train had entered Thane station. When Anil Chinchkar, the motorman, realised that the previous train had not left for the car shed, he had to apply the emergency brakes. The empty Thane train at platform no. 2 was on its way to the car shed near Kalwa when the Titwala-bound local hit it.

Now the reality check: As per reliable sources and information under RTI 2005, it can be said that the Motorman Mr. Anil Chinchkar was a known drunkard and was not up to the mark to be allotted suburban train working duties and therefore this motorman was debarred from active train working duties for lifetime by the earlier Sr.D.E.E. (O) Mr. A.K.Singh with remarks that he should never be booked to operate a train.

And when the next Sr.D.E.E. (O) Mr. Sandeep Fuller  took charge, he decided to book Mr. Anil Chinchkar to operate the local train apparently due to his personal ego and otherwise due to reasons best known to him only.

The result came out instantly on Dec 13, 2006 when this train accident happened at Thane.
Now After dismissal of Mr. Chinchkar, Sr.D.E.E. (O) Mr. sandeep Fuller got two award (GM and RAIL RATNA). No action was taken against the Sr.D.E.E. (O) even though he was directly responsible for the accident.

This is why the railways is in the condition that it is today. There is no action against Officers. There is no real punishment for them. When Mathura train accident took place between Goa & Mewar Express (where apart from many injuries, 22 peoples lost their lives), The DRM is just simply transferred as if it is going to change the system.
